From a few days ago, the sahasrara at the top of the head and the inside of the head became even softer. However, when resuming daily life, it feels like it's returning a little, and it reverts to a state where a sensation like sand is moving around in the head.
Even so, if the inside of the head has once become soft, meditation can help restore it to that state. Although there is still some stiffness and a crackling sensation in certain areas, it seems possible to relatively quickly reach a more advanced state again.
The crackling sensation and the "crack" or "pop" sensation inside the head are surprisingly closely related. During meditation, the feeling of stiffness is perceived as a crackling, sandy sensation. However, after a sensation that is intermediate between a "crack" and a "pop," the crackling sensation tends to be resolved in a relatively wide area.
- State and sensation: Crackling (a state and sensation that is felt relatively continuously during meditation)
- One-time sensation: Intermediate between "crack" and "pop"
For example, when starting meditation, there is a hard, crackling sensation like sand. After meditating for a while, there is a sensation of a "crack" or "pop" in the head, and then a large portion of the crackling, sandy sensation is resolved.
To resolve it, even simply focusing on the space between the eyebrows, which is a basic meditation technique, can often resolve it quickly. However, in my case recently, resolving the imbalance between the left and right sides of the head has been a challenge. Therefore, I shift the focus of my awareness from the center of the head to the ears on the left and right. Although the focus is only on the ears on the left and right, the body's energy also changes accordingly, activating energy in the shoulders (left and right), arms, especially the elbows (left and right), wrists (left and right), the upper and lower lines of the abdomen (ida and pingala), and even the feet.
Perhaps, in my case, the connection to the energy channels (nadis) on the left and right, specifically ida (left) and pingala (right), which are said to originate from the center of the head, is weak. This may be why simply focusing on it with awareness allows energy to flow more easily to those areas.
In yoga, there are three main energy channels (nadis): the central one along the spine is called Sushumna, the left is Ida, and the right is Pingala. These three are said to be connected near the center of the head, at the Ajna chakra (third eye), and recent sensations seem to support this.
In my case, I understand that because the connections from Ajna are relatively weak, simply focusing on strengthening those connections can activate the energy of the entire body.
However, there is still a subtle, gritty sensation deep in my head, so it's a matter of degree. Previously, it was much more stiff and solid, so compared to that state, it has already loosened considerably. Nevertheless, I feel like I am progressing, albeit with some setbacks, taking three steps forward and one or two steps back each day.
