Faith without an object is the real thing.

In general, it is often said that faith requires a specific object, such as deities, sacred objects, or religious leaders. However, true faith may exist in a state without a specific object, or if such an object exists, it may be limited to a location, region, or the space around oneself. While there may be a preliminary stage of faith with a specific object, where one relies on or prays to it, this preliminary stage is still a novice stage.

From my observations, whether or not this novice stage exists seems to have little to do with whether or not one reaches true faith. This may provoke objections from those who live by faith, such as "that's not the case," but in reality, even if one has a novice faith, they may eventually reach true faith, and even if they do not have a novice faith, they may sometimes suddenly awaken to true faith.

This involves issues of success rate and difficulty. In the case of novice faith, there is a pitfall of being misled by superficial faith. On the other hand, even in other cases, there are many pitfalls of worldly desires.

While it is generally considered good to reach true faith through novice faith, even if it is not called faith, something that one is very interested in or work such as crafting can inevitably lead to the emergence of something like the seeds of faith.

Some people may appear to progress through stages, from novice faith to true faith, while others may seem to skip the novice stage and suddenly awaken to true faith. However, even if the novice stage seems to be skipped, there is likely to be a period of training that replaces it.

In either case, through some kind of training, whether or not it is called training, or through actions and work, the mind and body become purified, perception deepens, and as a result, one suddenly awakens to true faith.

When one awakens to true faith, if they happen to be worshipping a sacred object, it may seem like that object is the object of faith, and they may continue to worship it for a while due to inertia. Similarly, if one happens to be worshipping a particular god or religious leader, they may initially continue to revere them. However, once one has awakened to true faith, even if inertia continues for a while, they will eventually realize that it is not bound by the object, but rather a faith in the "place" itself, or, to put it another way, a faith that comes from being "with the place." When one begins to realize this, they begin to gradually detach from the object while still maintaining their faith, and eventually become "free from the object." After a while, this faith changes to a faith without an object, or a faith in the "place" as a whole, or rather, they begin to realize it. This is a faith that is realized as being a faith that comes from being with the place.
