In contracts between countries, or even between individuals and companies, a contract society can be said to be like this.
What I am saying here is that this is the basic situation.
In this context, even a promise or a temporary business transaction can be considered a contract. And if that is a form of dependence, then that transaction must always meet expectations. Therefore, in Western countries, even when buying something small, there are stories of lawsuits. Because it is a form of dependence, if expectations are not met, lawsuits are filed to secure one's own interests.
This also applies to contracts for infrastructure and essential goods. If an electric company does not supply the expected amount of electricity, consumers in Western countries will file lawsuits to protect their interests. This is because they are in a bad form of dependence.
This kind of cycle sustains Western society, and as a result, contracts exist not so much to prevent lawsuits, but rather as a symbol of (bad) "dependence" that has changed form.
In Japan, it is often said, "In Western societies, if you don't have a proper contract, disagreements will arise and lead to lawsuits, so you must create contracts carefully." While there is some truth to that, the underlying reason is that contracts themselves are a form of dependence on others (in a bad sense), and therefore, before even considering lawsuits, there is a desire to create more dependence and obtain more from others.
And this kind of dependence is often caused by a lack of autonomy and creativity in oneself, which forces one to depend on others. In a sense, these are pitiful people, but even so, interacting with them can lead to troublesome situations.
Let me give an example.
It is common for couples to cling to each other. They may become sulky, ignore each other, or become irritated and lash out if things don't go their way. There are many people who are troubled by such partners. And in such cases, they are usually lacking in autonomy. They depend on the other person and want to be given things. Therefore, they become unhappy if they do not receive what they expect.
With a couple, it is possible to separate. However, countries cannot simply separate.
If the same thing happens between countries, it will eventually lead to war, and land and property will be taken away. This is a normal occurrence. In the case of marriage, larger countries or regions may provide assistance, but there is no one to help in conflicts between countries. If one side loses, as the saying goes, "the victor is the righteous army, and the loser is the bandit army," and the losing side will lose everything.
This world, in this way, is structured by dependence leading to conflict, and by using dependence to conquer others. And what manifests as a concrete form of this dependence is "contracts."
This form of depending on something through "contracts" is not the original, ideal state of human beings. Because it is dependence, dependence is something that should be overcome.
Autonomous individuals are not bound by contracts to such an extent. While there should be a minimum level of contracts for self-protection, it should not be the case that certain contracts restrict one's freedom of action. This is because humans have free will.
As long as this contractual society continues, God will not be pleased with the continuation of this world, and there may be times when change is demanded. I think this will become clear gradually.
