Something like air suddenly exploded forward from the area above the eyebrows (slightly closer to the right eye).
With that explosion, a shock wave seemed to emanate from between the eyebrows and travel forward about 5 to 10 meters.
At that time, I was working, sitting at my desk, typing on the keyboard, and looking at the display. Before that, I had been feeling a bit dizzy, but I was still within working hours, so I was trying to manage it. Suddenly, I felt something, and my gaze shifted to the right, towards the front (behind).
It's possible that the sound was heard by someone, but surprisingly, there was no reaction from those around me. Perhaps only I could hear it, or maybe most people were focused on their work and weren't paying attention to such sounds.
It felt like compressed air was being released, and it felt like an explosion about the size of a soccer ball. The shockwave seemed to spread over a wider area, but generally, it was about the size of a ball, with a shockwave of about 1 meter radius around it. Also, the smaller parts of the shockwave might have reached 5 meters or more in front.
A similar explosion had occurred in my chest a while ago, and I understood it as an experience of the chakra in the front opening.
If that's the case, it's possible that the third eye in the front opened. I'll observe it for a while. Recently, my awareness has been increasing, and my vision and sight have become clearer, so there's a possibility that this is related. However, I haven't suddenly started seeing things that I couldn't see before. This kind of awareness seems to be an expansion of normal vision, so I think that the increase in awareness might be an extension of that.
In the writings of Professor Honsan, there is the following:
"I experience a bright white light coming from between my eyebrows." "Esoteric Yoga P207"
"It's not exactly white, but a transparent light comes from between the eyebrows. (omitted) This is one of the important signs that the eyes are awakening in the Kalana dimension." (Awakening of the Chakras and Liberation P220)
The book mentions "white light," which is a bit vague, but some people might describe an explosion of air as light or a transparent light. Therefore, I suspect that they are talking about the same thing.
Also, the book mentions "the voice of God sounds like an echo from a distant valley," but I've had something similar before, so it's not new or different.
And, the book says that "when the eyes awaken in the Kalana dimension, karma can be transcended." Indeed, this feeling might be related to that.
Perhaps, some of the other chakras, or certain aspects of them, were awakening in the Karana dimension, but not yet in the Ajna chakra.
By the way, there is an anecdote that when Kobo Daishi was practicing in a cave in Murotozaki, Shikoku, the "Morning Star" entered his mouth. If we take that story literally, it means "entering," but in my case, it was "explosion" and "bursting out," which is different. However, if we interpret it broadly, it is possible that it was a similar experience. If I had seen the Morning Star in my line of sight at the time of that experience, I might have thought the same thing. The fact that there was an explosion, a shock wave, and that I felt that shock wave in the forward direction, may mean that, depending on the differences in perception, it might have been interpreted as "entering" and "exploding due to the impact of entering."
Or rather, what I am perceiving as an "explosion" and a "shock wave bursting out" might actually be something entering.
However, when I calmly recall the situation, I still feel that "explosion" and "shock wave bursting out" are more accurate. For now, I would like to keep several possibilities in mind and refrain from making a definitive conclusion, and observe the situation.
The lower part of the area below my left eye has become active.
Mainly, this can be said to be the effect of meditation, but the moment when that change occurs is not always during meditation; in this case, it happened unexpectedly while driving.
Originally, there was a difference between the left and right sides, with the right side being relatively open, but the left side was not as open.
In terms of energy pathways, it passes through the cheek, under the eye, and slightly behind, connecting at the brow, which corresponds to Ida (left) and Pingala (right) in yoga. The Pingala side seems to be connected all the way to the brow, but the Ida (left) side felt like there was a wall near the base of the left eye.
Previously, that wall was very noticeable, but recently, it seems that the wall has been somewhat resolved. Although it's called a wall, there are times when it resolves because the energy pathway passes through the inside, so it's not always a true wall.
When people think of a wall, they might imagine something that passes over it, but even though it's a wall, the resolution occurs with a slight bulging on the underside, allowing the energy pathway to pass through.
It's like inflating a deflated balloon, or like a flattened water hose or fire hose that expands when water flows through it; the inside bulges.
In the case of the left eye, when it opens, there is a feeling of the inside bulging. However, even when working from the brow towards the lower left, it didn't work very well.
Today, a slight bulge occurred just below the eye, on the slightly left side of the nose, and at the same time, I felt a sensation of the energy pathway, as Ida, expanding and stretching from below the cheek, through the cheek, to the base of the left eye.
This means that not only the area around the brow was blocked, but also the area just below it. That's why, even when trying to open it from the brow, it didn't open properly.
What's needed is to approach it not only from the brow, but also from the opposite side, from the lower Ida, from the left cheek, towards the brow.
At that time, I wasn't consciously aware of it; it just suddenly bulged and opened. I think that's because I was focusing on opening it from the brow, which also affected that area.
When I looked in the mirror, the left eye looked smaller, and although there was a significant difference between the left and right eyes until recently, that difference seems to have decreased. There is still a difference between the left and right eyes, with the right eye opening more easily, but it doesn't seem as noticeable anymore.
With this, it seems that simply being more conscious of the root of the left eye allows for a proper opening, and it feels like the left side will be properly aligned with just a little more effort.
Inflate the entire front of the face with prana.
Gradually, but surely, I am passing the prana.
The basics are Ida and Pingala, which merge at the third eye point. It connects from the cheeks to the third eye point. There is also a connection from the cheeks downwards, but it mainly concentrates around the face.
I am passing prana into areas where it has not yet fully expanded, like inflating a balloon, and passing prana beneath the skin.
Once it passes, there is a feeling of swelling, but that is not the end. It needs to be inflated repeatedly. Because it is not stable, I need to inflate various areas repeatedly.
- From the cheeks to the area below the nose.
- From the third eye point to each cheek.
- The third eye point itself.
- The area below the forehead.
- Between the eyebrows.
- The area slightly above the back of the throat.
And so on, I am loosening each area.
The basic principle is to "not apply force, but to focus your awareness." Basically, I use Kechari Mudra. For areas where Kechari Mudra does not reach, I pass prana there using only my awareness. When focusing my awareness, unexpectedly, there is a feeling of "pop" and it expands, or a feeling like cartilage is stretching, and prana begins to flow in that area. However, if it is only slightly loosened, it will return, so I pass it again in the same way. The second time, it becomes easier to pass. The first time, it takes a long time, but since it has already been passed several times, it is not that difficult. If I find a hard area, I find a point, and while using Kechari Mudra, I focus my awareness on that point and loosen it.
When the Sahasrar chakra at the top of the head expands, it indicates a deepening of the state of Samadhi.
During meditation, the area above eye level became softer and expanded, and the aura became more accessible.
In terms of the boundary, the back of the head seems to be lower than eye level, and the area above that is becoming more active. The front of the face is at eye level, the central part of the back of the head, and the area that connects them, forming a boundary. The area above that boundary seems to be glowing, as if filled with prana (aura).
This might be called "opening," but it feels more like activation and radiance, as if prana (aura) is being emitted.
As a result, distractions decrease, and a deeper state of stillness is achieved. It is possible to think, but those thoughts are deeper.
While the area above the head feels open, there is a sensation of a hard ring, like a headband, being placed around the eyes. This may be because the upper part is opening first, and the area around the eyes and the back of the head are gradually loosening and softening. The area around the eyes is loosening as the upper part collapses and softens.
In this way, the route from the center of the head to the area between the eyebrows and the lower forehead is becoming more active and thicker, and the feeling is that energy is about to break through the area between the eyebrows. If the energy passes through the skin and skull above the eyebrows, it will spread outward from the area between the eyebrows, but it is still just one step away.
Despite these changes in energy, the fundamental state is one of stillness.
Stillness comes first, and then the activation of energy.
Perhaps what Buddhist and yogic practitioners have described as the top of the head, the "Sahasrara" or "Great Sun Buddha," or the "gate of Brahman," is something like this.
And, as Buddhist practitioners often say, "stop thinking," this is indeed the "result." The result of opening the Sahasrara or the Great Sun Buddha, or the gate of Brahman, is the expansion of stillness.
Therefore, what is often misunderstood or presented as a "practice" or something "to be understood" is actually the "result" of achieving the state described above. Stillness or stopping thoughts is not something to "do," but rather a result. This is an important point.
Practitioners often misunderstand the concept of "training" and, claiming to be "training," they aim to "stop thinking" and achieve a state of "mushin." However, this is only the result of opening the Sahasrara chakra. Simply imitating this process is not very effective, and it may even increase distractions by providing energy in that way.
Furthermore, when someone is told to "think too much" or "don't think," it is questionable how effective that is. Conversely, if thinking is normal, one should think thoroughly. That is the principle of being a person. However, some people misunderstand this and, claiming to be "training" or advocating for the "ideal state of spirituality," they advise people not to think. Sometimes, they even lead people to expensive seminars. This is wasteful of time, but if it leads to financial ruin through cult-like activities, it is a grave sin.
Things are much simpler than that.
Opening the Sahasrara chakra leads to a state of mushin.
However, despite this simple truth, many people misunderstand and, through overthinking, take various detours.
If the state of mushin progresses further, one may no longer feel the desire to speak. Therefore, although it may seem unnecessary, I am recording my thoughts while I still can. Writing this itself is, in a sense, a useless and unnecessary act, but because many people are lost on the wrong path, I am diligently writing and leaving behind these words.
A core runs through the center of the space between the eyebrows, almost reaching the skin.
I can feel a sensation on my skin, and it feels like the energy in my forehead (from the center of my head) is about to burst out.
Until recently, the area between my eyebrows, where the "skull and skin" meet, felt like a wall.
In today's meditation, an aura is penetrating the skull part of my forehead (from the inside of my body) like a "rod," and it's becoming a column of light or aura, about the thickness of a pencil, and it feels like it's about to burst out of my forehead. In response to this, I feel a cracking or popping sensation in various parts of my head, repeatedly. While this sensation itself is quite familiar, I feel like it's expanding further on top of my previous experiences.
It feels like there's another layer of aura between the inside and outside of my head, and the area where the skin and skull were in close contact is separating, allowing for movement. And, during that movement, the aura passes through, activating consciousness.
I have occasionally felt a similar expanding sensation in the area between my eyebrows before, but it usually disappears quickly. This time, it feels relatively stable. Perhaps the activation of various parts of my head has caused changes in the skin's elasticity and the density/thickness of the energy, making it easier to stabilize.
The accumulation of aura in my forehead also activates my state of consciousness, and stabilizes my mind.
I think this is connected to the activation of the Ajna chakra.
Insert prana between the skin of the eyebrows and the skull to create a gap.
The basic principle of meditation is to focus on the space between the eyebrows, but it seems there are stages.
Stage 1: Concentrate your awareness on the space between the eyebrows (from the root of the nose to the bridge of the nose), and as if inflating a hard balloon, continue meditating until you feel the skin bulging, as if prana (energy, aura) is flowing between the skin and the skull. When the skin bulges, you will feel the energy flowing down to the lower abdomen (manipura, swadhisthana). Yoga teaches that the nose and manipura are connected, and you will experience this at this stage.
Initially, nothing like this will happen. After meditating for quite some time, you may unexpectedly experience this state after meditating for several hours. If you continue meditating for several months, the time it takes to reach this state will be shortened. It will become 1 hour, 30 minutes, 10 minutes, 5 minutes, and eventually, simply being aware of the space between your eyebrows in daily life will bring you to this state. Gradually, this state will become normal, and you will unconsciously feel that energy is flowing, and then you will no longer be able to clearly feel the bulging sensation, but the energy will still be flowing.
As this happens, the sensation of a bundle of energy extending from the center of the neck and head to the space between the eyebrows becomes stronger.
In reality, the sensation of energy flowing that occurs temporarily is due to energy connecting through a thin channel for a moment or a short period, and as it thickens, it changes to a state of constant connection.
As you progress, the prana that connects not only the space between the eyebrows but also the center of the neck, the center of the head, the back of the head, and the top of the head becomes thicker.
The basic principle is the space between the eyebrows, but according to descriptions in Theosophy or books like "The Hand of Light," there are two energy channels extending from the center of the head to the space between the eyebrows: one is the space between the eyebrows (from the root of the nose to the bridge of the nose), and the other is connected to the forehead.
You will feel both of these becoming activated.
・Space between the eyebrows (root of the nose) → Manipura (abdomen, lower abdomen)
・Forehead → Anahata (heart)
About six months later, the focus shifts from the space between the eyebrows to the forehead.
Until recently, the forehead still felt stiff, but the space between the eyebrows has become relatively activated, and now, the forehead is also gradually starting to become activated. When this happens, it is not limited to the forehead, but other areas such as the back of the head and the temples also become activated.
Hello, it seems that when the area between the eyebrows (nasal root) becomes activated, other areas tend to activate in a diverse and dispersed manner. Therefore, it becomes clear that focusing on the area between the eyebrows during meditation is a fundamental point because that is where the process begins.
First, gather prana in the area between the eyebrows and gently lift and inflate the skin to activate it. Then, similarly, introduce prana into the forehead, allowing it to permeate the space between the scalp and the skin, and also into the inside of the skull, loosening the area within.
"Inflating the space between the scalp and the skin" is a starting point, but it is not the end. Ultimately, the area within also needs to be loosened. Therefore, it is necessary to partially create pathways in areas that are initially stiff and do not allow energy to flow. Initially, this is done locally, but gradually, prana is channeled throughout the body to loosen the area within.
