Once again, the silence deepened. This silence doesn't mean that the voices in your mind disappear, but rather that the quality of the silence as a space becomes deeper. The place where you are sitting is the same, so it's the same location in three dimensions, but as you continue meditating, suddenly, with a "poof," the restlessness subsides and the silence deepens.
This has been happening gradually before, and this time as well, I focused on the area between my eyebrows, and using the power of my meditative awareness, I massaged the stiff areas there, as if to clear a blockage. Again, unexpectedly, the silence deepened.
Even though it's called "silence," it's a gradual process, so the silence is much deeper now than before. On the other hand, as you go about your daily life, the restlessness gradually increases, so you deepen the silence through meditation.
This is literally the restlessness of the mind, and it literally feels like waves.
And then, literally, those waves calm down.
When you are concentrating your awareness through meditation, suddenly, at some point, "poof," those waves calm down. This can happen quickly, or it may not.
Once you get used to it, this calming of the waves occurs independently of your thoughts. However, when you are not used to it, your mind guides you to this state. It's easier for the mind to be in this state, but it's not necessarily that you have to be in a state of "no-mind." The waves are literally waves, and that restlessness, so if only those waves calm down, that's enough, but even so, it's easier for the mind to be in a state of "no-mind."
