Like the Yin-Yang diagram, it unifies the inner space and the outer space by making them swirl together. Although it is not the Yin-Yang diagram itself, the image is that the inner space and the outer space are unified by a swirling, rotating energy.
This is similar to the stories often heard in spiritual circles about feeling the outer space and expanding outwards, but in reality, it is not about expanding, but rather about the inner space and the outer space being unified by the swirling energy like the Yin-Yang diagram. (To supplement, this Yin-Yang is not about good and evil, but simply a difference in energy.)
When there was only the inner space, the boundary was not well understood, and in reality, the world was all the inner space. However, in reality, the outer space also exists (apparently), and although the outer space exists, the inner and outer spaces have been separated until now. This may be a difficult story to understand, but it is normal for people to live by projecting their minds outwards. If your mind is calm, others appear calm, and if you have internal conflicts, others may seem angry or as if they are scolding you. The people and the surrounding environment are a mirror of your mind, and what you think about the surroundings is the image of your mind. Because this is the basic principle, in reality, until meditation progresses to some extent in spiritual practice, the self and the surrounding environment are not separated, and your perception is projected outwards.
Even if meditation progresses, it basically does not change, but you can become more aware. You will be able to distinguish which parts of what you think about others are projections of your own mind and which parts are the other person.
Here, when I say "unify the inner space and the outer space," it does not mean this projection, but rather it means unifying the inner space and the outer space after you have been able to distinguish them. Projection is simply projection, and it is a state where your mind, which has not been purified, is like fog or clouds on your perception, making it difficult to perceive others. However, this is not what I am talking about. After your perception becomes clearer and you can recognize things clearly, you initially recognize those things as the outer space, but in reality, even that is recognizing that the inner space and the outer space are (originally) unified.
So, what is the benefit of doing this? It has the effect of deepening the so-called oneness. Furthermore, you can deepen your understanding and become able to understand the subject more clearly.
You often hear stories in spiritual circles about feeling the universe, but that is not possible in one step. It seems that the fundamental principle is to unify the inner space and the outer space by a spiral-shaped rotating energy, like the Yin-Yang diagram.
