If you become aware of your higher self, you will no longer be without regrets or desires.

When higher consciousness becomes constantly active, it becomes impossible to be completely free from thoughts and emotions.

Before that, the lower level of consciousness, which is the ordinary conscious mind (the thinking mind), is the dominant state. By stopping this lower mind and reaching a state of emptiness, one can experience a state of tranquility. The stages are that there is a state of bliss in the zone before, and after that state of bliss becomes stable, one reaches a state of tranquility without thoughts and emotions. However, this state of tranquility without thoughts and emotions is simply a state where the lower mind, the lower consciousness, the so-called mind, and the thinking mind are stopped.

However, when one awakens to the consciousness of the higher self, it is a higher level of consciousness, and like the lower level of consciousness, it also has functions such as "feeling" and "acting with intention." Although the dimensions are different, there are the same aspects of "seeing" and "action."

Once one has awakened to the consciousness of the higher self, or the Purusha in yoga, or the Atman (true self) in Vedanta, the state of the lower consciousness, whether it is active or not, becomes less relevant. The consciousness of the higher self is free, full, and filled with bliss. Therefore, the state of tranquility is merely an intermediate state, not the ultimate enlightenment. However, even so, the state of tranquility can still be a certain goal, and although it is not the ultimate destination, it is still a relatively high state.

Until one reaches the state of tranquility, one first aims for a state of bliss by purifying one's own mind, the so-called astral body (which governs emotions). Then, the mind becomes stable and one reaches a state of tranquility. Even in that state, one can live a relatively fulfilling life. If what the person seeks is a comfortable life, then growth stops at this stage. Even if it stops, it is because the person has been given what they sought, and it depends on one's own consciousness. Therefore, there is nothing wrong with it, but if one seeks to serve others or to reach a higher state, one will not stop there but will reach the higher self.

Once one has reached the higher self, the state of tranquility (without thoughts and emotions) becomes something that may or may not exist, and one can live life freely from a higher level.
