Granthi are spiritual knots located along the nadis (energy channels) in yoga. When energy is blocked at a granthi, it is considered to be in a state where energy cannot flow. In yoga, this state is referred to as the "destruction" of the granthi, meaning that energy is made to flow through it.

If you read the Japanese directly, it might seem like having granthi is a good thing, but in reality, in yoga, the "destruction" of the granthi allows energy to flow.

In a state where one has not practiced any form of training, the granthi is "knotted," and in that state, energy cannot flow. Therefore, by "destroying" the granthi (knot), energy is made to flow.

The energy referred to here is kundalini, which is the fundamental energy of the human body. This energy is awakened by raising it along the spine, from the base of the tailbone to the crown of the head.

However, this is what is said in Hatha Yoga, and not all schools of yoga express it as "destruction."

Some schools say that "kundalini rises naturally," and indeed, this is true for some people. However, even in those cases, the knots are resolved gradually, although it is not necessarily called "destruction."

There are various theories about the location of the granthi, but the most common ones are:

* Brahma Granthi → located at the Muladhara Chakra (the lowest part of the spine, the base chakra)
* Vishnu Granthi → located at the Anahata Chakra (the heart chakra in the chest)
* Rudra Granthi → located at the Ajna Chakra (the third eye between the eyebrows)

However, there are also theories that they exist in the following locations:

* Muladhara
* Manipura Chakra (the solar plexus chakra in the abdomen)
* Vishuddha Chakra (the throat chakra)

Alternatively, there are theories that they exist in:

* Anahata
* Vishuddha
* Ajna

It is said that these three knots must be broken for prana (energy) to reach the Brahmarandhra in the head. There are various theories about the location of the three knots. "From Yoga Fundamental Scripture (written by Tsruji Sabota, P215)."

In my case, it seems that all of these are present, and the granthi are not just three, but are blocked in almost every chakra. Especially recently, the blockage in the Vishuddha chakra has been resolved, and I think that the next one to be resolved might be the Ajna chakra.
