One of the benefits of meditation is that every day becomes happy and enjoyable, even when there is nothing special happening. Rather than the world changing, one's perception changes. Perhaps the world has always been a fun, beautiful, and happy place, but for some reason, things that were perceived as unfortunate were actually illusions that obscured the beauty of the world. By removing these illusions, one can see the world as it truly is, and experience happiness.
There are many people in the world who try to control others by covering them in a thick cloud. While obvious, dark desires are easy to avoid, subtle things like commercials and seemingly "sparkling" (fake) lights can mislead people into thinking something is wonderful. By distancing oneself from these things that distort perception, one can see things as they are, and realize that the world is actually beautiful, clean, and full of happiness from the beginning. It's not that one "realizes" it, but rather that it has always been that way, and one's perception recognizes it. The world has not changed; it has always been a beautiful and happy place, but one's perception has distorted it.
The problem is not with the products or services themselves, but with the situations that distort perception and create unhappiness. There are many good products and services available. Even if a product is wonderful in its true form, there are many people who try to distort perception in order to sell it, resulting in not only desires but also jealousy, dissatisfaction, and longing, which lead to unhappiness. Not all commercials are bad, but if one watches them unconsciously, one's perception can be distorted without realizing it, leading to unnecessary desires and a state of unhappiness. It is better to avoid commercials as much as possible.
It can be difficult to distinguish between what is a good commercial and what is not without life experience, but they are usually mixed together, so it is best not to worry about it and simply avoid commercials altogether.
Even if one's perception is distorted, it can be corrected through meditation.
■ Spending happy days by entering the "zone" in daily work.
That distorted cognition is planted in various places in our social lives. The distorted cognition, which is called "avidyā" in Sanskrit or "ignorance" in Buddhism, can be removed through various practices or meditation.
Not only does it lead to happy days, but by seeing things as they are, understanding becomes faster, movements become better, and as a result, work becomes more efficient, which is useful in real life.
It may be difficult to have happy days from the beginning, but it is best to start with feeling happiness even in the short term.
You can meditate for a long time, but long meditations are difficult for beginners, and there is a high possibility of being overwhelmed by thoughts and becoming depressed. Therefore, it is better not to do long meditations, especially in the beginning. Instead, focusing on work and entering a state of "flow," where you can do your work with joy, can be an alternative to meditation in the early stages. If you feel pain immediately when trying to meditate for a long time, it is recommended to focus on work and enter a state of flow. At first, it may be difficult to enter a state of flow, but it may be only a few times a year, or a few times a month, or even once a week. Eventually, you may be able to enter a state of flow every day. The degree of progress varies depending on the situation and the person, but as the state of flow becomes stable, joy continues, and meditation gradually becomes possible.
However, the joy in the state of flow in this case is quite different from the state of happiness mentioned earlier. The joy in the state of flow is an intense emotional joy, while the happiness mentioned earlier is a sense of constant fullness. Nevertheless, the state of flow is a good starting point.
As the state of flow becomes the norm, you will eventually be able to experience peace in a state of stillness, and as meditation progresses further, you will be able to have happy days even without special events, and you will be able to spend every day feeling wonderful and enjoying your life.
