Even when desires are fulfilled, there remains a lingering bitterness, and even if one temporarily escapes pain, even the slightest emotional hurt can trigger intense anger. It appears as if one is living a peaceful life, but inside, the heart is filled with hatred, confusion, and distractions. While normally adhering to morality and living quietly, the slightest spark of hatred can quickly lead to outbursts.
This is particularly evident in the internet age, where the inner world often takes precedence over reality. The mental image is amplified and superimposed as a virtual space over reality, so even if it's not real, if the mental image precedes reality, it is interpreted as if it were real, leading to unnecessary suffering, sadness, or anger.
This state of prioritizing the heart may seem spiritual at first glance, but it is a misunderstanding of spirituality. In reality, advanced spiritual knowledge is fully utilized in business and world governance. The reason why people believe that spirituality has nothing to do with the world is because, once people acquire spiritual knowledge, they awaken to the truth and are liberated from control, which is inconvenient for the ruling class.
In reality, if the heart takes precedence over reality, it becomes easier to control people. Therefore, people are encouraged to live in their imaginations and prioritize them over reality. A clear example is the coronavirus. While the coronavirus is indeed a disease and should be feared appropriately, some governors and others appeared on television to promote their elections by exaggerating the situation, which amplified the image in people's minds and led to an unnecessary fear of the coronavirus.
Prioritizing images leads to a neglect of reality, which is like relinquishing control to others. One's anger, suffering, desires, and escapism are all driven by the images provided by others.
In the case of the coronavirus, the image of fear was implanted. However, the practice of implanting images of desire has been ongoing for a long time as a basic strategy. This affects various aspects, such as jealousy and comparing possessions with others, which in turn stimulates further consumption and action.
It is much happier to calm the mind through meditation than to be drawn into a whirlpool of desires that will never end.
