In spirituality, the stage where feelings of bliss or ecstasy arise is an important stage of growth. However, those who have not yet reached that stage may recognize truths of a higher order in the form of theory or understanding.
This stage of blissful ecstasy can be considered a form of samadhi. Samadhi has various types, but this is a samadhi that involves an object and a unity with that object. It is a state that brings about emotional elevation and a sense of unity, allowing for a better understanding of the object.
This is undoubtedly a wonderful state, but truths of a higher order cannot be clearly recognized within such a state of ecstasy.
When understanding spiritual texts or scriptures, it seems that these truths are recognized not as clear sensory or experiential experiences, but rather as understanding or theory.
In reality, the terms "sensory experience" or "experience" used here are metaphorical expressions. These sensory experiences or experiences are not in the realm of emotions, but rather are direct sensory experiences or experiences from a higher level, such as the soul, higher self, or even Atman. Because it is as if there is a subject, but it is also connected to the entire existence, it may be inappropriate to express these sensory experiences or experiences with the words "sensory experience" or "experience," which may lead to misunderstandings. However, since we are talking about something that is difficult to grasp, we have no choice but to use these terms metaphorically.
In reality, when you actually reach the next stage and, metaphorically speaking, your vibration level rises to a higher state, you can clearly recognize it through sensory experience. This is when the Atman or higher self directly experiences or undergoes something.
Therefore, once you actually reach a higher stage, you can simply say "sensory experience" or "experience." However, if you have not yet reached that stage, you can only recognize it as "understanding" or "theory."
What can be confusing is that, depending on the expression used, it is true that the Atman or higher self is the one doing it, so using the words "sensory experience" or "experience," which are often associated with the physical body or senses, may indeed be inappropriate. If that is the case, even if one is actually recognizing the Atman or higher self, it may be more appropriate to use the words "understanding" or "theory" instead of the words "sensory experience" or "experience," which are often misunderstood.
However, even with a full understanding, there are times when we avoid misunderstandings by using the words "understanding" or "theory," or the Greek word "logos." However, there may be misunderstandings with these words, but there are also times when we use the words "sensory experience" or "experience," which intuitively seem correct.
Therefore, even if someone uses the words "experience," "sensation," or "sensory experience," it can be interpreted in various ways depending on their level. On the other hand, even if someone uses the words "understanding" or "theory," it can also be interpreted in various ways depending on the person.
As you can see, there are many things to consider about the words used. However, what is being said here is about how one intuitively feels. If we are talking about intuition, the story is very simple: if one is still at the emotional level, one can only recognize higher concepts as logic or theory. Once one has reached a higher vibrational level, there are many choices in how to express it. Even if one has not yet reached that level, there are many choices in how to express it. However, there is only one way to actually perceive it: if one's vibrational level has not yet risen, one can only recognize higher concepts as logic or theory, and not through sensory experience.
