In the world, there are many spiritual teachings that promote "the law of attraction" and "living a life of your dreams," but the true spiritual path involves living the most challenging life you can endure, as this allows for rapid growth. Living in this harsh reality requires courage, as simply living is difficult enough, let alone choosing a more difficult life. However, spiritually, it is often better to do so.
Therefore, if you could choose a timeline, this is simply a matter of making choices throughout life, which is perfectly normal. Even if your conscious mind seems to be carefully considering and choosing an easy life, in reality, most of what is truly happening is unknown to your conscious mind. Therefore, even if you try things like "attraction" or "envisioning the future," the results are often the same. Ultimately, your higher self, as it were, is living the life that your conscious self (also known as the "jiva") is meant to live.
At that time, whether your conscious self thinks "a difficult life is good" or "an easy life is good," there is often little difference. The life that your higher self has chosen is often already "a challenging life that is just barely bearable." This is usually the case. Therefore, it is pointless to compare yourself to others, as some people are living much more difficult lives, while others are not.
However, this also reflects the way of thinking of your higher self, and there are different types of challenges. Therefore, what you find difficult varies from person to person.
And everyone is not given the same challenges, and what appears to be a simply miserable life, or even a wealthy life, can be the case.
In these cases, if your higher self has a certain amount of life experience and knows that world, it is often planned, and the level of difficulty is often carefully considered. However, if your higher self itself is not very thoughtful, that becomes the "life you want to live," and while there may not be much hardship, the growth is also slow.
The connection between your conscious mind and your higher self can be strong at times, and disconnected at other times. When they are connected, it means that your consciousness is directly your higher self, so you can choose a timeline as your own will when you experience an out-of-body experience. On the other hand, when your higher self and your conscious mind are separated, it is often difficult to know the intentions of your higher self, and you may only receive occasional inspirations.
In any case, the higher self plans out life. However, if you are not familiar with this, you may subconsciously choose a life that seems okay or interesting. And as you become more familiar, it will challenge you with things that are on the edge. Then, it may become a difficult life, but you can overcome that hurdle. If you cannot overcome it, it will simply be a do-over, so there is no need to worry too much about it.
From this perspective, what is commonly said in the world as the "Law of Attraction" can sometimes be a type of "devil's whisper." While not everything is, there are a certain number of suspicious spiritual groups that use clever words to attract people like a new religion and then profit from it. Therefore, it is better to be careful of spiritual practices that promise "worldly benefits." It often seems suspicious when people are attracted by sweet words like "living a life you want."
Rather, I have not yet heard of it, but if there is a spiritual practice that "attracts a life that is more difficult than the present, a life that is just barely bearable," it might be genuine (I cannot say for sure).
More than that, it is better to live a basic, ordinary life to the fullest. If you are a student, study diligently; if you are a working person, devote yourself to your work; or if you are a housewife, devote yourself to raising your children. You should basically ignore suspicious words like "attracting a good life."
In reality, this is something that you are already doing yourself without having to ask anyone. It is something that each person should do, and there is no need to rely on someone else. Sometimes, there are people who want to control others by making them dependent, and they may use such sweet words.
Even if it seems like life will become easier, there are still things to do, and it will never end. Spiritual practices are not about being easy or difficult, but sweet words often attract people in places that are not the true essence of spiritual practices.
The true essence of spiritual practices is "to become free," and it is not about ease, manipulation, or attraction.
