This principle is fundamental, but because it is fundamental, it seems like a rule that can always be applied. Even when one is still swayed by distractions, this rule is correct, and even after some purification, this rule is effective for entering deeper meditation.

As meditation progresses, distractions may appear, but they will not hinder meditation.

Distractions hinder meditation because the purification is not yet advanced, and the consciousness is drawn into the distractions. However, as purification progresses, a part that was originally in the subconscious emerges as a deep consciousness behind the conscious mind. Because of this deep consciousness, one will not be drawn into distractions. In order for this deep consciousness to emerge, purification must progress, and as purification progresses, the deep consciousness will emerge, and it will no longer hinder meditation.

This is a matter of degree depending on the stage, but when entering a deep meditation, one enters a state of "muen muso" (free from thoughts and desires), and the number of distractions decreases. However, how long this state lasts depends on the degree of purification.

Even when focusing on the chakras or energy channels (nadis in yoga) during meditation to activate those areas, whether it goes well or not depends on the degree of purification. If purification is not advanced, it means that the chakras are blocked or the energy channels are blocked, which can cause discomfort or other problems.

If purification is advanced, there will be no problems when focusing on the chakras or energy channels.

When purifying oneself, it is better to do it gradually, because deep traumas or so-called "demons" will emerge during deep meditation, and it is necessary to purify them gradually.

There is also a method of purifying oneself quickly through the techniques or healing of others, but in terms of acquiring coping methods or understanding the content, it is difficult, but it is better to deal with it yourself.

However, these impure aspects do not necessarily have to be caused by oneself. Some things may be related to one's own life goals, while others may be things that one has picked up or been forced upon, but are not very relevant to oneself. In such cases, it is okay to not worry about them, not understand them, and simply purify and eliminate them.

Spiritual people, especially in Japan, are serious and tend to try to understand and deal with all traumas. However, if one tries to deal with everything, it will literally never end. Therefore, it is one option to skip things that are not directly related to one's goals or to purify and eliminate them.
