■Common interpretations of the Higher Self
The meaning has changed over time.

- Meaning in the New Age boom of the 1990s: "The self" that means "the true self."
- Meaning commonly used today: Soul

To understand this, it is necessary to understand the background of the 1990s.

At that time, many people living in a materialistic society felt a sense of stagnation, and the New Age boom was born from that sense of stagnation. In that era, the "self," which should have been a unified and unique entity, was separated into "the self that is striving in a materialistic society" and "the self that feels that is not right and is seeking a true way of life." This separation was occurring as a social phenomenon, so it was a common understanding. Therefore, when referring to the Higher Self, it referred to the latter "self" that is "seeking truth." And the Higher Self served as a bridge to the soul.

The structure is as follows:
Material self (main) <-分離-> The self that seeks truth (higher self, an unawakened consciousness). <-> Soul

In the past, the material self needed the concept of a "higher self" to approach the soul.
However, when this separation is resolved and a balanced state is achieved, the concept of a "higher self" disappears. This is because both are, in essence, the self.
When the separation of the self is resolved, it simply becomes a connection between the self and the soul.
At this time, the word "higher self" loses its meaning and its meaning changes to refer to the "soul."

Self <-> Soul (Higher Self?)

While the original meaning of "Higher Self" is gradually disappearing, the custom of calling it "Higher Self" continues. Sometimes, it still refers to "the self that possesses a perception close to the truth," but recently, it seems that there are more cases where "soul" is directly expressed as "Higher Self." Therefore, in recent writings, it is necessary to recognize which meaning is intended depending on the context.

Many channeling sessions with the Higher Self are not directly connected to the soul, but rather involve communication with the self, which is how the self thinks based on truth when "conventional constraints such as material desires are removed."

As this progresses, the separation of the self may be resolved, and when the self regains a transparent mind, it may transition to channeling with the Higher Self in the sense of "connecting to the soul," but this is different from the original meaning. The concept of "Higher Self" originally presupposed "separation of the self."

■Interpretation of Higher Self by Hawaiian Indigenous People
According to the book "Flower of Life," the Hawaiian indigenous people interpret it as having "three" layers:
- Higher Self
- Middle Self
- Lower Self

This is different from the general two-layer interpretation of "self and Higher Self."

The Middle Self is the consciousness of two-dimensionality.
The Lower Self is the Earth. In short, the Lower Self is "the unconscious." The unconscious is connected to all people on Earth. This is the collective unconscious that Jung speaks of.
The Higher Self is "everything."

According to the book, it is not possible to connect with the Higher Self unless you connect with the Lower Self.
According to the Hawaiian indigenous people, the Earth is like a child of 2 to 6 years old, and to connect with the Lower Self, it is necessary to become a carefree child and play. The reason why spiritualists emphasize grounding and express it as "healing" the inner child is actually this. "Healing" may give the impression of a wound in the individual's mind, but whether there is a wound or not, it is necessary to become carefree and play in order to connect with the Earth. This is what is expressed as the inner child, but the essence is not the inner child, but connecting with the Earth.

And when you are completely connected with the Earth, which is the Lower Self, the Earth will introduce you to the Higher Self.
