The concept of "letting go" in spirituality is often misunderstood, and if one only vaguely hears and understands it, they may end up freely interpreting it and doing something different.
Saying that "letting go" means stopping a habit or stopping a belief is a superficial understanding. It's a bit different from what is generally thought to be, such as those superficial things. Even saying that it involves re-examining things that have been culturally and traditionally considered, that is not really related to "letting go."
"Letting go" means moving away from a state where consciousness is deeply connected to physical things. Therefore, it is not directly related to stopping habits. Stopping bad habits is something that should be done, and if it is a habit in the sense of tradition and culture, it is often better to follow that habit, tradition, and culture, as it can prevent one from being troubled by it. In spirituality, this can lead to less confusion and allow one to focus on meditation and prayer. Traditional habits can sometimes help in spirituality. In places with traditions and cultures, it is often better to follow them, as it can lead to less confusion spiritually. Fundamentally, such cultures and habits are not related to spirituality, so one could say that habits are not necessary. However, everyone lives within a culture, and there is no one who lives outside of it, so it is best to live within the habits of one's own culture.
A common situation seems to be that when people try to let go of culture, beliefs, or habits, they sometimes leave behind or lose their "ma'ui" (soul) in that place, which can result in a state where one's soul feels slightly incomplete.
The same is true for past traumas. Even if it doesn't go that far, the fact that there is conflict or belief means that one's "ma'ui" (soul) has been left behind in the past. If one does "letting go" incorrectly, that "ma'ui" (soul) will remain there.
What is truly desired in "letting go" is to sever the strong connection between consciousness and the physical events of this world that are related to those things. By doing so, the spirit becomes free.
On the other hand, the "ma'ui" (soul) that has been left behind in those beliefs and experiences needs to be retrieved, and the "ma'ui" (soul) that has been given or forced upon by others, which originally belongs to the other person, needs to be returned to them.
When it comes to letting go, there is a possibility that these "mabu" (souls) may be separated from their original place and remain detached, or that you may end up possessing the "mabu" (soul) of another person. However, it is important to understand that this is a misunderstanding, and that each "mabu" (soul) needs to return to its original place. Therefore, it is necessary to sever the spiritual and physical connection and let go.
