In spirituality, it seems that enhancing sensitivity is often seen as an indicator of growth. However, this is a very misleading concept.
There are mainly two types of consciousness: the conscious mind and higher consciousness. The conscious mind is the ordinary awareness of the mind, while higher consciousness, or the higher self (or Atman, the true self, depending on the school of thought), is a higher level of awareness.
When we talk about enhancing sensitivity, there is a significant difference depending on whether we are enhancing the former or the latter.
The former deals with things like energy and the superficial aura. When we talk about sensitivity, we are often referring to obtaining information from others by interacting with their aura. When obtaining information, the other person's aura and a part of it merge. To obtain information without being directly connected, we take information by incorporating a part of the other person's aura into ourselves. However, when separating, it is not possible to cleanly remove it, so some of our information inevitably passes to the other person. If not done properly, a significant amount of aura exchange can occur between the other person and ourselves, and we may end up giving more information to the other person than we receive.
Sometimes, when someone is considered to have made spiritual progress, they may be using this method of obtaining information from others through their aura.
People with mediumistic qualities or those who are prone to spiritual disturbances often have unstable auras that fluctuate irregularly or spread widely and loosely, like amoebas. This unstable and widespread aura comes into contact with the auras of those around them, unintentionally causing them to receive information.
Even if someone understands something about another person, it may be treated as a good thing or a sign of spiritual growth. However, if this information is obtained unintentionally through aura contact, it simply means that the person is an emotionally unstable spiritual beginner, or even less than a beginner. Sometimes, the person themselves may mistakenly believe that they are doing something amazing, but the instability of the aura indicates that they are at a beginner level or below in spirituality.
From the outside, it can be difficult to distinguish this from genuine spiritual growth, and people may mistakenly believe that someone who seems to know things they shouldn't know is a remarkable person. However, this is simply because their aura is unstable.
On the other hand, there is a side of enhancing sensitivity through higher consciousness. In this case, the aura is not directly involved, as information is received through a connection to a higher level. This is the true form of spirituality, and the aura should be stabilized and anchored near the physical body as needed.
