Recently, I've been feeling that energy is flowing around my throat more and more. The change I've noticed is that when I feel blocked, even a momentary negative emotion can trap me for a brief moment. However, when energy is flowing properly through the upper and lower parts of my throat, I am almost never trapped, even if a negative emotion tries to surface.
In yoga, the throat chakra, Vishuddha, is generally considered a chakra of purification. It is said that a potent substance, the "source" of Amrita (nectar), falls from the Bindu chakra in the brain, but when the Vishuddha chakra is awakened, it is purified and becomes Amrita (nectar).
The throat is thus a place of purification, but it also has the Sushumna, an energy channel (nadi in yoga) that runs along the spine, connecting the upper and lower parts of the body.
The Sushumna is often associated with Kundalini, and most discussions about it involve "ascent." It is said that Kundalini awakens from the Muladhara or Swadhisthana chakras located in the sacrum or perineum and rises. From this context, it would seem to be an upward movement, but there is a preceding stage where cosmic energy enters through the Ajna chakra and descends.
The purification and grounding I am referring to are not about the ascent of Kundalini, but about the cosmic energy entering through the Ajna chakra and descending. Even if this does not happen, the Vishuddha chakra still performs its role of purification, but I believe that it truly begins to function when the energy from the Ajna chakra increases and begins to flow through the Vishuddha chakra.
This, in turn, seems to strengthen grounding.
In spiritual terms, grounding generally refers to the chakras in the lower body, such as the Muladhara, Swadhisthana, or, at most, the Manipura. However, I believe that true grounding is established by the cosmic energy entering through the upper chakras, particularly the Sahasrara and Ajna chakras.
Before the cosmic energy entered through the Ajna chakra, I would often feel tired just by being in a crowded city, or I would sometimes develop a condition that looked like a spiritual illness. However, since the cosmic energy began to enter through the Ajna chakra, I have experienced a significant reduction in negative influences from others. And now, with the strengthening of this energy and its flow through the throat chakra, I feel that my grounding has been further enhanced.
And, I think it is also a purification and a grounding.
The state is similar to the story of Amrita (nectar) in yoga, which is a metaphor. In the story, a drop falls from the bindu chakra in the head, and the drop is used as a metaphor for astral energy. In my case, I feel it as a gas or prana, not water, so it might be a little different.
However, although there may be some differences in dimensions, I think that the point of something coming from the head and descending through the Vishuddha chakra in the throat to fill the entire body with vitality is the same.
Therefore, simply put, it is both a grounding and a purification.
