Generally, abilities are attractive, and in reality, you can use abilities even without connecting with your higher self, and abilities can appear even without reaching Sahasrara.

And, when you become fascinated by abilities and techniques, your growth may stop and you may not reach Sahasrara.

I think that is a very wasteful thing.

There is a mainstream of spirituality, and there is a path for one's own spiritual growth, but people tend to be attracted to abilities, and when abilities appear, they tend to have the illusion that they have grown.

As is often said, abilities can appear with the help of spirits like tanuki (raccoon dogs) or foxes, or the whims of spirits, and that is something that appears with the help of spiritual beings, not one's own ability. Many people mistakenly believe that it is their own ability, and as a result, they are tricked by tanuki, and their abilities are completely useless, or they are completely tricked and suffer great losses, or they are greatly embarrassed.

Even without reaching Sahasrara, spiritual abilities can appear to some extent from the Swadhisthana (dan tien) or Manipura chakra (abdominal chakra, solar plexus chakra). The Swadhisthana (dan tien) is sometimes metaphorically called the "chakra of the unconscious," and it has characteristics such as abilities appearing unexpectedly, being uncontrollable, and losing consciousness in a trance.

Even with such lower chakras, one can become a spiritual person to some extent, but the abilities that appear when connecting with the higher consciousness of Sahasrara, such as the energy of the sun or the universe, the higher self, and the collective consciousness, which are essentially the same thing, are different in dimension.

What is obtained by reaching Sahasrara is often exactly what is written in books, but until you actually reach it, you cannot understand what is written in the books, and then, you may be attracted to abilities and techniques, and end up going astray.
