As I carried out several missions aboard the Pleiades spacecraft, a mission arose to help the spiritual growth of a cute alien with a vaguely egg-shaped body and small limbs. It was decided that someone would reincarnate to help the spiritual growth of the planet, and I was chosen for the task.
In reality, the inhabitants of that planet, despite their cute appearance, were possessive, arrogant, and at a very low stage of spiritual development.
It seemed like a mission to reincarnate and, through grassroots efforts, promote even a small amount of spiritual growth on such a planet.
Although it was called reincarnation, it wasn't like reincarnation on Earth, where you wait for your lifespan to end. The spacecraft had a "body annihilation device" for missions like this, which literally erased the coarse parts of the body and returned them to nothingness. Before that, the body was scanned in advance so that it could be restored after the mission was completed. However, the physical body would disappear temporarily.
Therefore, on the day of departure, after completing preparations, I entered the device, had my body annihilated, and became a spirit. I then communicated to the members of the Pleiades spacecraft, who could sense my spirit through telepathy and vision, that I was going to the target planet, and then entered a predetermined fertilized egg of the host organism and was born as a resident of that planet.
Because the body shape was different, I was initially unaccustomed to it, and when I looked at my own body, I felt a bit strange, thinking, "What is this body..."
Even though it was a mission, I was surrounded by cunning, jealous, and rude people who couldn't understand the concept of spirituality.
I even got married in that world. There were male and female genders on that planet, and I was male, while my partner was female. I think my partner was very satisfied with me, but I was tired of her strong will, and although I didn't express it openly, I felt that she was "a bit too much." It was a heavy feeling, I hope you can understand.
Eventually, when I saw some slight improvements in the spirituality of the local community, I reached the end of my lifespan and the mission was completed. I returned to the spacecraft, but my partner also tried to follow me after her death. I don't remember the details, but the fact that she tried to follow me suggests that she died before me.
However, the planet and the spacecraft were quite far apart, and when I initially tried to return on my own, my partner followed me. It's a bit misleading to say "I had no choice," but I was so tired of my partner that I couldn't bear to leave her behind. So, I brought her to Earth. Now that I think about it, I wonder why I did such a half-hearted thing.
After returning to the spacecraft, I entered the administrator's room as a spirit and said, "I'm back." Then, I was asked whether I wanted to return to my original body or enter another body (there were several options to choose from). I chose my original body. Then, I entered a similar machine again, and based on the records, my physical body was restored, and my spirit entered it, reviving me.
After returning to the spacecraft, the administrator said to me, "You should have brought your wife with you to the spacecraft." I didn't give a clear answer. This is because I was tired of my partner's "heaviness," and I felt like, "Please, give me a break." However, I didn't say it directly because it felt a bit rude. As a result, the administrator seemed to think that I was a "mysterious person."
